These terms govern your use of PowerballTax.com. By accessing the calculator, guides, datasets, widgets, or related pages, you agree to follow these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Acceptance of terms
You may use PowerballTax.com only if you can legally agree to these terms and comply with applicable laws. We may update the terms as the product, advertising setup, data sources, or legal requirements change.
Educational use only
The calculator, articles, tables, and datasets are educational tools. Outputs are estimates produced from formulas and public-source assumptions described in /methodology and /data/powerball-tax-rates.md. Nothing on the site constitutes tax, legal, financial, investment, accounting, or fiduciary advice.
No account or winner services
PowerballTax.com does not create user accounts, claim lottery prizes, verify winning tickets, process payments, represent winners, or provide CPA, attorney, brokerage, insurance, trust, or wealth-management services.
Permitted use
You may use the site for personal research, educational comparison, journalistic context, and reasonable internal planning. You may quote short excerpts with attribution and a link back to the relevant page.
Prohibited use
You may not abuse the site, attack the infrastructure, scrape at a scale that harms availability, misrepresent our estimates as official lottery or IRS results, remove attribution from copied material, or redeploy the full calculator interface without written permission.
No prize claiming or verification
PowerballTax.com does not know whether a ticket is valid or whether a prize has been won. Always verify winning numbers, claiming deadlines, prize amounts, and payout options with the official lottery agency for the state that sold the ticket.
No warranty
The site is provided "as is" and "as available" with no warranty of any kind, either express or implied. Tax rates, thresholds, withholding rules, jackpots, cash values, and payout rules can change. The site may be delayed, unavailable, incomplete, or incorrect.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PowerballTax.com and its maintainers are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive, special, or other loss arising from use of, reliance on, or inability to use the site.
Intellectual property
Site code, interface design, original copy, calculator presentation, and compilations are owned by PowerballTax Team or licensed to us. Public facts, official lottery results, tax rules, and government materials remain owned by their respective sources.
Third-party trademarks
"Powerball" is a registered trademark of the Multi-State Lottery Association. PowerballTax.com is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Powerball, MUSL, any state lottery, the IRS, or any tax authority. Third-party names are used for identification and commentary.
External links and data sources
The site links to IRS pages, lottery agencies, state tax sources, Google policy pages, and other third-party resources. We use these links for transparency, but we do not control third-party content, availability, policies, or calculations.
Disputes and enforcement
If a concern arises, contact hello@powerballtax.com first so we can investigate. Nothing in these terms limits non-waivable consumer rights or legal protections that apply in your jurisdiction.
Severability
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining sections continue to apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
